骨軟部疾患の画像診断第2版 (画像診断別冊KEY BOOKシリーズ)

この本は、言わずとしれた秀潤社お得意のキーブックシリーズの骨軟部版である。初版は、1999年9月に刊行されているので約10年経過して、第二版が出されたことになる。第一版を知らない放射線科医、整形外科医は少ないと思うが、第一版には多くの不足の症例が見られていた。それを補ったのが本書で、第一版の127例に追加される形で合計175例を網羅する分厚い本に進化している。それで、税抜き価格が5400円と1000円アップしている。2010年4月の総会で満を持して本屋さんに並んだために、平積みにされていた本はあっという間に売り切れていた。と言うことは、どれだけ第二版が待たれていたかの証拠であろう。さて、第二版にはどのような疾患が追加されているのか？それは購入前には知っておきたいところである。たとえば、メルマガでも紹介させていただいた上谷先生ご自身が論文を書かれた大腿骨頭病変3つのうち前書で記載できていなかった軟骨下脆弱骨折の記載と、3つの疾患（大腿骨頭壊死、一過性大腿骨頭萎縮症、軟骨下脆弱骨折）の比較がシェーマで記載された。膝関節の章では、バケツ柄状断裂がややわかりにくかったのをかなり詳細に解説しているだけでなく、半月板損傷のタイプが立体シェーマを交えながらわかりやすく解説されている。全章とも解剖からシェーマに至るまで前作よりもさらにわかりやすく解説され、図も多用され、 MRI画像も多くの症例で追加または刷新されている。新版が出たのを契機に再度最初から読み直してもいい良書と思われる。骨軟部の画像専門家が読むにはやや物足りないかもしれないが、初学者から整形外科医、（私を含めた骨軟部を得意としない）画像診断専門医まで広い読者に支持されると推察する。イチロウ拝
